Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Guess I'm the king of sturgia now

Started a new game. Just hit clan level 2, joined sturgiebois with the intent to get a fief then bail in the future.

Very first battle in an army, we barely win. Ragnavad dies. They vote me king. T2 clan comin in hot boyyyyysssss.

No wonder sturgia always gets wiped out early on. They let any ole rabble run the show.
