Can someone help me understand the lore and stuff of Prophesy of Pendor?

Like, I've been told to just go on the wiki, but I'm stupid and find it kinda overwhelming..? So, could someone just give me a brief rundown of the world, and the factions and everything, so I understand THEN I can go get info on the more finer details. I did the same thing with 40k, and that worked out.
