Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Lagging map after a while. Any fix?

So...my map screen has annoying stuttering and won't go above 35-ish FPS. I have a decent rig and I get nearly my 144 FPS in battles.

Anyone know what's causing this and/or how to fix it? I have a theory that it's related to too many tracks being spotted on the map after my scout started leveling up significantly.
