Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. AI Cheating???

I’m currently playing as Sturgia and we are constantly at war with Battania. They can create multiple armies of 800-1200, through raising armies in able to defeat them but then almost instantly they summon more and I have to retreat while they take my castles until I can recruit more troops or call more vassals to the army. How can the AI maintain, have the manpower, or money to have up to three large armies and then recreate them after they are defeated? Anyone have any help or advice? I don’t know what to do anymore and it really ruins the game. I’ve destroyed several armies and can’t even stem the tide. Please help.
