Is using a one-handed mace/hammer (or short weapon in general) viable from horseback in either Bannerlord or Warband?
I've tried it a few times in Warband, but I have a real bad habit of missing my swings, or hitting but having to get so close that they land a solid hit on my horse or myself in exchange. I know that blunt weapons such as these were generally the preferred close-quarters weapons of knights and other men-at-arms, but mostly when they were on foot or relatively stationary. Is it the same way in-game, or is there a method to being effective with them from horseback?
