So I'm at clan level 3 right and I wanna start my own Imperial faction (dragon banner). Well Argoron decided to rebel against the Kuzaits (I know, my borders are decimated in this playthrough) so I decided "hey I'm gonna take my army of 122 high level dudes and take em out and take the city for myself". Simple right? No, far from it. So my plan was to take out the Lords and it was going swell till one got away. I figured oh well, I've got the food supply and money so I'll just starve out the city, simple. And it was going so well, I just needed one more day for their supply to run and and people to start starving. Been defending sieges lately and the enemy will run away much sooner than usual (duh that’s how morale works) but that means less deaths Defending a siege takes a while as it is unless you send troops and sim. Sim tends to lose me more than a well fortified siege defense in person. I get the feeling having the enemy run away for field battles will help out a lot tho. I haven't played since early access release. This is bannerlord 2 I'm not sure if my save is toast, since its been a good while since i last played. When loading the game it says "This save file is form a game version that is older tahn e1.17.0. Please switch your game version to e1.7.0 load the save file and save the game. This will allow it to work on newer versions beyond e1.7.0 I'm not sure what to do with this. Do i just go via properties --> betas in Bannerlord 2 and select an earlier patch? I could have done it sooner but the 80k dowry was a bit steep at the time, so I waited. Then Caladog disappeared for a year (game kept saying he was in a city but never there or anywhere near) then finally reappeared, and I was able to approach him again on the topic. He gave her to me without asking a single gold, and we were wed immediately afterwards. I then offered him the Dragon Banner, as I am now part of the Royal family, and will do my best to wipe the Empire dogs from the face of the world. This has become the absolute most frustrating part of this game for me. I'll go pick a fight with an enemy army, and once I'm outnumbered about 3:2 or worse odds, part of my army doesn't show up to fight. I have 215 troops, I'll pick a fight with an army of 300-400 troops, and half the time about 150 of my troops will show up. I have no injured troops at all. What the actual goddamn fuck? I was commanding an army of about 950, and we were attacked by an aserai army of only 675. I was surprised they pursued us and thought it would be a sure victory, even if costly. I normally have no problem defeating even or slightly larger forces. My party is a very diverse maxed out force of 190, and all the accompanying parties are northern empire, mostly mid to high tier troops. The aserai were about 50/50 between cavalry/horse archers and infantry. They wrecked us, eliminated my entire army and they only lost 350 men. (I save scummed so I can try again). Anything that's not a war economy (ransoming/selling loot) or fief taxes is not worth bothering with. Workshops turn basically no profit unless you know exactly which towns to buy a workshop in and corner a market. Caravans are okay but will get killed off when wars are declared since they roam the whole map. You make millions just looting and ransoming. They nerfed most of the non-war stable ways to get money into uselessness. Companion limit should be much higher. You need companions to govern fiefs and make war parties and armies that don't rely on other aligned lords. I have like a 7 companion limit and its not enough. You need your wife to govern and then your kids to work around this. You can't really paint the map unless you execute everybody, since lords escape captivity and raise more armies and rebel endlessly with money cheats. Mods fix this by either making executions possible between AI lords or by making prisons more airtight, or by reducing the reput

Dear diary; It has been 892 days since my I joined my liege, and somehow I am still alive. As you know, my liege is… an eccentric man. Two days ago, 150 of us, 100 infantry, 40 archers, and 10 cavalry, joined forces with 200 militia to defend Epicrotea. The enemy? They numbered just over 1300. Madness… utter madness, and yet I had never felt more confident going into the battle. Why you might ask? Well, the last few weeks, my Liege has no longer chosen to lead the cavalry as he once did, but instead had chosen to march with the infantry. My Liege was initially… challenged at the rigors of infantry, to used to a horse to carry him everywhere and it affected the entire unit. I had thought we were doomed, and then, at the start of the battle my liege took one of his mighty crafted javelins and threw it over 50 meters into the torso of the enemy Lord. I've arrived at a standard war party setup and battlefield technique which routinely yields victories against AI armies that outnumber my party on the order of 3 to 1, often even 4 to 1, including when they have mostly elite troops. I call it "Rinse and Repeat", with the additional help of the "Pincushion Runaround" (PCRA). :-D Rinse and Repeat RR basically exploits three things: Khan's Guards are by far the most powerful unit both on range and in melee. You can retreat from a battle instantly at no cost, and thereby reset all sub-fatal damage to your non-hero units. As long as you have enough troops remaining in your party, there is a maximum 3:1 ratio the enemy can field against you in a battle. E.g. your game is set to max 800 troops on the field at a time. Your minimum share of that is 200 troops, as long as you have at least that many fit for action in your party. They only get to field 600 at a time, no matter how big their army. The Pincushi

It's my first run in Bannerlord and in final part of main quest I faced annoying situation with wounded attackers in siege. Enemys have numerous advantage about 1000 vs 200-400(me) and they are 3 kingdoms. That's why I can't beating them in open field. And I tried beat them in siege. But there's problem begin: after my catapults destroy theirs ladders and ram and wounded about 100 bodys they just retreat. And then heal them all and repeat, and repeat. I’ve pretty much been wrecking the western empire by myself but can’t make any progress besides swapping a castle here or there. I love RBM. Two things break it for me though: the formations ai and the damage of cutting weapons. The formations or "large groups" ai have glaring bugs, most obvious for me being the engage command for horse archers, as they ultimately STOP skirmishing (after a while) and just stand still waiting to be slaughtered by advancing infantry. For cutting weapons, RBM is extremely historically accurate, but due to limits of the vanilla game engine can't showcase ways bladed weapons COULD overcome armor (such as halfswording, far more accurate cuts, or cuts/thrusts while grappling). So is it possible that someone recommend me a list of mods that (aside from being all compatible with each other) do the following changes: ​ All spears to be held far lower on the haft. Increases their reach and hopefully makes couched lances way more viable. A new calculation method for armor that makes them way better than their paper counterparts in vanilla. However, doesn't nerf blade

Was a normal playthrough on campaign, (5th one or so) and had just hit clan tier 2 and become a vassal - then just after securing my first castle, suddenly kingdom choices stopped affecting relationships with other lords. For example, “Marunath has been taken, vote for lord” - I vote, and it says I’m supposed to gain relationship with fen Uvain, and lose relationship with fen Gruffendoc and fen Derngil - but instead nothing happens. Prevents me from gaining charm skill through this, and also seems to prevent me from being nominated for any other fiefs down the road. Tried starting a new campaign with a different kingdom, same thing happened around the same time. Tried starting a new game on sandbox, same thing happened around the same time. Want to make a cool two handed sword, but after making about 15 of them (at level 82 rn with both double discovery perks) I'm still halfway into tier 1 shit. So I sat in a city for something like 100+ plus days to get my character's wife pregnant with a second kid, but when I did and left the city and looked at the map I realized Marunath, owned by the Vlandians was being besieged by the Vlandians. The event log is constantly pinging 'Marunath is being defended by the Garrison at Marunath' over and over but the army (led by Hecard) doesn't attack, and the city doesn't sally out. I’m at the late game stage, have 26K strength and about 90% of the map, 35 clans, I’m playing Empire and I have absorbed the remaining Empire factions. It’s been an absolute pain to eliminate the other Empires. I probably chopped 200-300 lords and still other Empires have between 6 and 12 clans. I got this Goggles Helmet tonight for about 150k. It’s Level 6 armor I think but I think it’s only about 10 more armor then the Armored Turban I won in the arena. I got it because the town did not have enough money to pay me, so it was no big deal. But I just wanted to know more about why the game makes this armor cost so much. Is it just for cosmetics? This has happened about 4 times in a row now and I've never seen it before. But that's nothing new since Army destroying glitches happen about every 5 minutes in my playthrough. ​ Basically I ambush and kill ALL THE SEIGE ENGINES. I am 100% sure I am not mistaken, I 100% kill every single seige engine on the field. But as soon as I retreat after killing them, the army instantly attacks like they always do. Except now they have a magically appearing siege machine? Why? Pretty much every instance they have been halfway through the process of building the machine, but it should not be completed in the 0 time between ambush and assault ​ Is this a glitch though? And if so is it another glitch where im SOL? In my honest estimation I must have encountered about 50+ different glitches so far, and all of them have been reported by other players usually 3-4 years ago, and most of them severely diminish my ability to survive through a brutal playthrough where every faction hates me

How can I change my age? I've modified 'lords' file to set default age to 16 but once I exit character creation menu my character goes back to look in his 30s. campaign.change_main_hero_age and campaign.set_hero_age are unknown commands. So when I'm defending in a city vs a siege, I place my archers on the walls, like most people do I imagine. But only sometimes do they spread out and take individual defensive spots on the wall, and start shooting at enemies. And then sometimes they just stand there in a square formation and tend to not do anything, except maybe a lucky one or two of them who are in line of sight of an enemy. ​ Now I must have done about 30 siege defenses by now, so I'm not a total noob. I've pressed every single function F1-F9 button available but I cannot seem to control any formations when they are on walls. ​ So, please, what exactly is it that causes them to be smart archer like I sometimes see? So I played warband a lot and loved it. Saw this game and gave it a try and ffs it's hard, even on easy difficulty. I'm assuming forest bandits aren't enemies you can just use to train your soldiers and get xp anymore? I went into battle with around 20 soldiers, 1/4 were 3x upgraded foot soldiers, 1/4 x3 upgraded archers, the rest were a mix of infantry and archers. Went up against around 13 basic forest bandits and I come out winning but only had 4 soldiers left alive. Wtf is that lol Aren't bandits supposed to be what you use to train and get xp for your party? How are they demolishing upgraded soldiers so easily? Lol On top of that they do an incredible amount of damage to me even though I have like, decent, not great, but decent gear. I have a few fiefs from my time as a battanian vassal. I declared separation with fief retention, and made peace. If I vassalize to the same, or another nation will the ruler (Caladog, or other) be able to strip me of my fief and give it else where? I have been playing for a couple weeks now and made a few bold moves to claim a couple fiefs for myself as an independent clan. But since I am not too strong being only clan tier 3 I have executed every prisoner I taken in order to force peace. Naturally the rest of Calradia hates my guts now and won't even let me do quests for them. I’m playing 1257 AD. I want to become Marshall of the faction. I told the current Marshall to attack Milano and he is gonna lose badly. At first, I planned on helping him but since I’m trying to become Marshall, I’m wondering if it’s a better strategy to let him lose, get fired from the position, and then hopefully get appointed. I’m still debating if it’s worth it to just release everyone after I defeat them in battle? They come back weak anyway and I’m sure the added relations make it much easier/cheaper to convert them in the long run. My main campaign pretty deep in well dragonbanner I could assemble. That one not going well I'm hemorrhaging money barely making enough to pay for troops and all the tributes. Only good thing was I beat Sturgias ass. That character is I think lvl 20-24? Started a new one in sandbox that's a smith first and then riding and bow second. Much more relaxed since I'm not running a kingdom that's constantly under attack. I have been playing as my own faction for at least 15 years of in game time. For most of that time I have been at war with the Northern Empire who constantly attack me. Even if I sign a truce, they just attack me the next week anyway. I try to stay at war with them to grind them down by attrition, but it never works. They always just recruit more men and more armies. And no matter how many lords I capture it doesn't seem to make a dent in their numbers. I can beat them whereever my main army is. The problem is, I can't be in two places at once. If I go east, they go west. If I go west, they go east. If I disband my army and let the AI do its thing, they get decimated. I have been waiting for ages (like years of in game time) for the Vlandians or the SE to attack the Northern Empire. But the Vlandians have only attacked them once, and the SE has *never* attacked them. Nor the NE attacked the SE. I have no clue how to win this. Honestly I'm beginning to feel like this gam

(On Xbox) This is my first play through. This game is so confusing to me. I love it and it’s so much fun but I feel like I’ve been doing the same thing over and over. I have 6 towns and 4 castles. I also have 4.5 M saved up. What are my next steps? I’m terrible at dealing with any enemy who has a larger army then me and I just don’t quite have the military tactics down. Would anyone be willing to help me out? I’m so confused as to where to find the best troops because each town keeps changing kingdoms. I feel like I’m missing out on so much of this awesome game. I just need help. I’ve been watching countless YouTube videos and scouring Reddit for tips but I still feel so lost. I literally have to save the game every time a kingdom wants peace because it never tells me who has to pay who? I have to accept peace, then see the conditions, then load a previous save file... ​ Nevermind the fact that if you click a Kingdom Decision, you are forced to answer the decision without even being able to look at map or the encyclopedia? Just wondering if anyone knows of any games with a similar concept to the mount and blade series? So like, battles in first/third person, you can take over places/build an empire or similar? Also any in a more modern era? Freeman guerilla warfare a few years ago was looking promising, but that's been abandoned by the devs... This game sucks. I'm just gonna make a thread for every glitch that wastes 30 minutes of my time on the very off chance that even 1 developer is still trying to fix this game. Every single glitch I've googled and they've all been around since day 1 of release. In the early game, I know there are options (trading, quests, etc.) but am I just missing something? It seems too obvious to just round up some low T2-T4 khuzait archer cavs (especially since you can hire low tier archer cavs without needing to have horses for them) to get you started? It doesnt cost a lot to get 10 or so archer cavs and you can be fast enough to avoid the fights you want and kill what you can handle and just increase your size to 20-40 of whatever tier you can afford. I try to avoid the temptation and go with infantry but your force is slower and overtime they do get killed off in melee's. It just really feels like you punish yourself avoiding pure archer cavalry and once you can afford it (a short somewhat tedius but easy grind on bandits) you can run with 50+ upper tier archer cavalry and go after nobles as a mercenary in wars. Being a merc with a mini doom stack of 50-70+ veteran archer cavs and you can rinse and repeat attacking single nobles and either se
