Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Latest patch ruined my game.

I dont know if i am the only one experiencing this. First lost my sturgian shock troops, they are now heavy sturgian speamen. Changed the aspect of many units, in many cases making them look silly now. But the worst part is now everybody is tinny. My character was huge and is now the same height as his wife who is almost an imp. All units have the same height now. Wtf taleworlds...
