Party speed

I just started a new vlandian sandbox run. Usually I'm battania. I feel my party speed is to slow and am chasing bandits all the time. I got a lot of pack horses and verb working in trading to raise funds also fighting as mercenary. What are all the steps for maximum party speed optimizing as vlandian? Is boosting relation worth the effort?

I've read that for convincing people to join your kingdom, their relative riches and fiefs will outweigh their opinion. I've also yet to see how having a high relation with a sovereign affects whether or not they declare war on you. Is it better to take prisoners and execute them, and conquer the country once there aren't any lords? Or would even ransoming them for money be more worth it than the relation boost for letting them go?
