Party speed

I just started a new vlandian sandbox run. Usually I'm battania. I feel my party speed is to slow and am chasing bandits all the time. I got a lot of pack horses and verb working in trading to raise funds also fighting as mercenary. What are all the steps for maximum party speed optimizing as vlandian? Is it worth replaying the game now? Old player looking for a game

I played this game 12-14 months ago and it was in a terrible state. You couldn't make your own kingdom without getting destroyed by the big dogs. The main quest was bugged and uncompletable. Almost all the skill tree wasn't implemented. The only way to play that was somewhat fun was to murder all the lords being factionless (which I did) by abusing those OP archers (heros I think?). Have things improved since then? Is it worth revisiting?
