Party speed

I just started a new vlandian sandbox run. Usually I'm battania. I feel my party speed is to slow and am chasing bandits all the time. I got a lot of pack horses and verb working in trading to raise funds also fighting as mercenary. What are all the steps for maximum party speed optimizing as vlandian? Is there a mod or console command that lets you swap your character to another clan member?

I'm playing on 1.50 (I think, or whatever the most up to date non-beta version is)

I had a kid, and one of the mods I'm using let me grow the kid up immediately, and I'd rather be playing as the kid than my current character. Is there a way to do that without kill off your current character?
