Mount and Blade 2 Bannerlord error

Hello all, I've been wanting to play some Bannerlord for a while now. It was my favourite game and stopped working for a while, I uninstalled it and reinstalled it many times and it wouldn't work so I gave up on it.. I forgot about it until I saw my mate appear online playing it, I redownloaded it and it seemed to have worked, it's now giving me grief and I cannot continue my campaign or start a new game without an error appearing. I've reinstalled it three times now, I've deleted the config file, I do not have any mods installed, I've verified the games integrity and steam tells me it all checks out fine.

The error I get is Could not load merged Xml File correctly: NPCCharactersError: Requested Value "Judge" was not found. Any help would be appreciated.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that? It was a useless topic to discuss, but I kept coming back because I was so hyped about the game and was hoping for more information about it.
