I hate Horse Archers

Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. How is the game now?

I absolutley love Warband, been waiting for Bannerlord for ages to get finished and saw that its like 21 euro on Epic store. I dont want to spoil the experience with the game in a unfinished state. So..how complete is it right now?

Also, can you even mod the game if its on Epic store?
