I hate Horse Archers

Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. Battania BS

Why is it I have to fight every Battania city or castle twice - because the first run through there is always 1 enemy hidden someplace no human or AI can find and you have to retreat and fight it all over again. Is it due to the design of the castles because I haven’t run into this with any other kingdom.
