I hate Horse Archers

Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. I can't activate my mods in the launch menu. They're greyed out. Any help?

So im unable to check any mods i download in the launch menu. I'm able to activate butterlib, MCM, UI extended, and Harmony but it greys out things like realistic battles, open source armory, etc...

As far as i know i have the dependencies downloaded for these mods and everything. Why won't it let me activate em?
