Marriage proposal, what happens to my kingdom?

Playing as a female character, a lord agreed to marriage. While waiting for the ceremony, I found a barely manned town and took it. As I was independent, I had created a new kingdom.

Anyone know what happens now if I go back and complete the ceremony? Will I surrender my town to my husband? Getting a bit of cold feet if thats the case lol.
