Bannerlord's greatest features are your imagination and your own fantasy - How to enjoy Bannerlord again

Why I Still Love Bannerlord Despite Its Flaws Hello everyone I've been thinking about this for a while, and I wanted to share it with anyone who enjoys Bannerlord, or wants to enjoy it more. If you're already having fun throughout the entire game, that's great. This post probably isn't aimed at you. But if you've ever felt that Bannerlord has incredible potential yet somehow loses its magic after the early game, maybe this perspective will help. I completely understand the criticism the game receives. Bannerlord could have been so much more. The quests become repetitive, diplomacy lacks depth, and many of its mechanics never evolve as much as they could. The early game is exciting, the mid game starts to slow down and the late game often turns into a grind. I agree with all of that. And yet... I still enjoy every stage of the game. The reason is simple; I don't rely on the game to tell my story. I create one myself. To me, Bannerlord feels less like a tra...

The Aserai Vanguard Faris - most deadly army unit in game atm in my opinion.

A bit of context. I love playing this game, it has incredible re-playability and for me this is a hallmark of a great game (around 1800 hrs plus). I have played Banner Knights only armies, X-bow only armies, Fian and Khans Guard only armies, Wildlings, infantry only armies and a mix of all the above. After a while they all become a little repetitive in setup, the composition below has been the most fun out of all the above by far.

For about the last 2 years, I ignored Cav and just use Infantry and Archers, as archers were king and i didnt like having to micro manage cav. Watching them get stuck in infantry lines and dying was heartbreaking. Thats until one of the latest patches which enhanced Jav accuracy as we all know. I watched one of Tactical Enlightenments videos on the best Cav and he showed Faris stomping everything. I thought I would give them a try and Wow.

I run 80% Vanguard Faris and 20% Manavilions, they thump everything. Faris will circle and chuck their Javs creating a 'bait-ball' (fish reference) enemy dont know where to go / where to defend. If any survive the Javs and couch lancing, they are then met by shock infantry rolling in. I use Manavs because I think they just look awesome and they only have one throwing weapon so they get into the action quicker than other shock who have 3 axes / knives (i know you can hold fire but thats more micro for me).

The strategy is blitz attack, you can basically F1 / F3 from the start and they clean up, but I prefer to give my infantry a head start to they hit their lines just after the Faris do. If you are playing other cultures, not to worry. Head down to Aserai lands and capture loads of Harami's and nomad bandits as prisoners. When you army starts to deplete, bring them in, I was very surprised how deadly and how survivable Haramis are with a decent medic. If you want to boost your roguery skill keep them in or your can upgrade them with veterans perk to Faris.

Stick all your companions on horseback with 3 stacks of Javs and a short swingable polearm (140-160 length) so they can also use them in sieges / on foot and get to harvesting. They get so many kills, its ridiculous (Credit to Bill Wavey on Youtube)

Please give them a try. So much repeatable and devastating fun. Thank you for your time.

Optimal weapons in Smithing (Forging): a second, deeper (?), look - Blades/Heads + Guards/Banners and Accessories. Bit of a letdown

Hello everyone. It’s been one month since part 1 was released (This one https://www.reddit.com/r/Bannerlord/comments/12yqhq5/optimal_weapons_in_smithing_forging_a_first_look/ ).I’m here posting again to go forwards in the established direction from part 1.There will be a TL;DR section at the end. A little recap is in order: last time we crafted every single possible weapon in Bannerlord, but ignoring guards, pommels, grips, accessories (From now on, "Parts 2/3/4")... and only switched between different blades/heads ("Parts 1"), which I expected to determine the overall worth of the item much more than the other parts (This proved to be the case, according to today's data).Furthermore, there were no changes in size at all, so all components were crafted only in standard size. Again, I've updated the Google drive folder I've been using up until now. It contains a series of screenshots detailing the weapon's name (Which in turn is a combination of the...
