Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Player settlement mod

The settlements i build functions properly apart from one thing. They never get besieged. They have quite a lot of defenders so that might be why, the villages surrounding gets raided. But I’m wondering, is there a thing that these settlements dont get sieged or is it just chance? And what should I do?
