Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Istiana’s Plan

Hey butterlords, the Khuzaits always tend to steamroll every faction in my campaigns. So I decided to give them the Dragon Banner to eventually have all 3 Imperial factions declare war on them. I waited until the conspiracy quests began and I’m currently at around 1200/2000 for the conspiracy bar. My question is once all 3 Imperial factions declare war on the Khuzaits, can I leave the faction for them fight this war? Or will the quest fail? I gave them the Dragon Banner and attempted to leave but a prompt popped up saying leaving the Khuzaits will fail the quest. Thanks
