Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Lord needs armour

Is there a way to edit a Lord's loadout? either through commands or a mod? I can't find anything on nexus.

I am playing the Freelancer mod (which is great btw) but the Lord I am following wasn't fully grown when I started, and for some reason is leading an army in silks, without any weapons besides a dinky sword. Is there a way for me to give them either my own armour, or to just spawn some for them?

Edit: I solved the problem by marrying them, but I don't think that will work every time....
