It seems that quests get harder the more renown you have (or maybe that's time passed or clan tier?), and they are the key to maxing relations with notables. Once my character is developed enough, it gets too time-consuming to finish some of the quests (like "village needs draught animals", 7 cows required vs 40). This also applies to delegating those quests to companions, as the requirements for their skills seems to increase as well. And it feels really important to be able to collect troops (especially nobles) quicker.
So, in my next run I'm planning to max those relationships via quests before doing anything that gives me too much renown. So, that means:
- getting the charm perk that gives extra renown from battles, not quests
- focus on trading
- carrying some grain, tools, livestock, horses etc all the time to be able to complete some quests instantly
- avoiding battles if they aren't part of a quest or if they give more than 0 renown
What do you think? It could also be applied to lord quests, as they're easier early on.
tl;dr: I want to make late-game troop recruitment easier by focusing heavily on quests early on. What are your thoughts?
