In Warband you would allocate troops to formations on your party screen. You could put individual troops in formation 1,2, 3 etc. In bannerlord it feels cumbersome having to do it in the battle deployment screen using the sliders. I downloaded the bastards mod because I didn’t want to bother with getting a wife right? Figured it would be more simple this way. Wrong.
I spent all day long doing quests for the empress to get into her pants. I did awful, despicable things for that woman. I extorted the poor, I burned down villages, I even spent half an in game year hunting ONE MAN.
I had to raise an army to drag him out of the castle he was hiding in, but I got the bastard. Finally, I dumped him at the feet of the empress, and she let me hit it.
So cool, I’ve got my heir. I can relax now and not worry about getting too old to make babies. I go crusading, slaughtering the desert people because it feels historically accurate. You know, minding my own buisiness. Then BAM! I have a SON! A male heir!
But what’s this? An election….for a new ruler?
She’s dead bros. The empress has died giving birth to my warlords bastard. His mother is dead, his birthright is gone. Another man’s line rules in his stead.
I left the kingdom after that. I’m shacked up in Tyal, and I’ve declared myself a king. I owned it when I joined the southern empire so I wasn’t going to let them keep it.
Now, I will live the rest of my life gathering strength, money and allies. One day, my son will be the emperor.
