I just came back to the game after a year hiatus, and I'm thrilled they finally actually added mechanics rather than just doing endless bug and balance patches that somehow break every mod with every patch. I discovered the sneaking tutorial, and then found out that basically every stealth kill or every other stealth kill gives a level of roguery. (5 focus points) now I'm wondering what's the point of alleys anymore. They were never particularly good, but at least there was an argument to be made that they increased roguery. But now that I can just go farm hideout stealth missions, earn way more money, keep my companions in my party, and not gain crime in the process, I'm wondering what purpose alleys serve anymore? So I'm on day ~360 in version v3.7063 and I'm now a vassal for the Baccus empire with my first castle Whitestag Castle in addition to my village that I try very hard to keep defended from raiders. I have founded a knighthood order, Silvermist, since I believe they are the closest to the noldor troops because of their archers.
Thing here is that when I founded the knighthood order, the only thing I got to choose was which knighthood order (I think there was like five or something, maybe more, don't remember). So even if some people say that you get to name it or something and name the soldiers, I got no such option. Does it have to do with my version?
I also heard that you can improve the men you get by choosing armour for them and using qualis gems to improve them. The only option I get is to improve them for money (ATM 160k, seems to double every time) and this gives them +2 strenght and agility and +10 weapon proficiencies. Their armour seems to already look good.
Every now and then my castle seems to be filled with the knighthood order's men, as have I read it should. The amount is however not really that high and it feels like that are gaining slower and slower. Is there a way to make more come faster? It also seems like I can upgrade some troops to the knighthood men from some pendor men, but I can't seem to find any of the spesific soldiers that is required. Is there a special way to get them?
I also wonder about how I should use my qualis gems for. I used 3 for the potion that some recommends, but now I have 3 left. I have considered going for those 15(x3) noldor warriors and level them up and then take Valorshield Castle off of the Sarleon's, but lots of people seem to look down on buying them because they can die easily. However, I am what people call a "savescum". If any important man (or woman) die, I'll just reload.
So lastly, about those noldor tournaments... Usually I just save right before and go into the tournament and win - reload - repeat until I get that god damn gem. Thing is, last time it took like 1.5 hours just because I NEVER got that damn gem... So I'm wondering if it would be possible to just throw away whatever garbage that I get and start game in cheat menu and then give me a gem and then just turn off cheat menu again. What I'm afraid of is that I will stop gaining achievements.thatwasaquestion
