Any way to assign only certain troop types to a formation?

Hi new player here, question in the title. Let's say I only want my Swordsmen in Formation 1, is there a way to do this with any granularity? I know there's the small icons which allow you to set "preferred types", but is there any way to do it with a bit of precision? Or a mod which allows this? Thanks in advance. Am I the only one missing the Master Smiths?

I understand that they’ve made smithing a game function now but what Lord crafts his own weapon?

I want to find that legendary blacksmith who will dramatically overcharge me for a custom forged weapon fitting of my status!

I have asked about here and there but people mention that there are usually rare items occasionally available in other towns which get triggered by time etc etc but I feel like the only person who seems to mention this. Am I so alone in the world??
