Can’t call companions to start their own armies in beta 1.6

Just got beta 1.6 last night and started a campaign. In regular 1.5.1 I could tell companions who had been released from captivity to go start their own parties and recruit without having to find them in taverns first. In 1.6 I can’t. They have to be taken to my party first. Anyone know a fix?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
