Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Alliances

I’m a mercenary for battania, married corein, and I’m almost to tier 2 where I can be a vassal. Is it better to marry siblings off to the other lords of battania or to other kingdoms? If I do the battania lords will it make getting help and control easier? If I get the support of the other lords is it possible to replace the king?
