Declared war on allied mercenaries on load save?

I’m playing as southern Empire, have the Hidden Hand as mercenaries with a couple of their parties in my army. I started a big battle late at night, so half way through quit to go to bed, knowing I’d saved right before the battle anyway like a good little save scummer. Now when I reload any of the precious 3 autosaves I immediately declare war on the Hidden Hand and their parties abandon my Army. Multiplayer Campaign?

I saw a video titled "Multiplayer Campaign Coop" or something similar. However, the video is 3 years old, and I wanted to ask if there is a mod where I can play on the campaign map with friends, form alliances with them, and strive for world domination together. Is there such a mod that is still up to date?
