What is fast mode?

M&B Sale on GoG

Hey guys, as there is an ongoing sale on GoG I was thinking of getting the game. The complete package is around 20$. I want to know is it worth to get the game at its state now.

Are all DLC's necessary? Maybe there are some that are completely redundant and a waste of time?

I am particularly interested in the Viking DLC. Is it any good? Overall is the game a worthwile purchase?
