Viking conquest. Any way to get the troops to level up easier?

I know it's supposed to be a much longer, more brutal version in general, but when 5 of my companions have max training and I can barely get the level 2 units to rank up over the period of a week, it's annoying.

Anyone have a fix

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
