Taking lords prisoner?

Have not played since war sails first released. What’s up with taking lords prisoner now? Before when you’d defeat a party it aways gave you the option, now it seems like half the time they just slip away somehow. Its been forever that the game has been announced and their was this one interview where frank the game developer thay got laid off and every one ask this one question MARRIAGE AND SUCCESION. I really wanna see what they improved on it and the new features
