Taking lords prisoner?

Have not played since war sails first released. What’s up with taking lords prisoner now? Before when you’d defeat a party it aways gave you the option, now it seems like half the time they just slip away somehow. Should i declare war against the Vaegirs?

So I have been playing for some time now, I have a wife, started a kingdom and took a lot of land from the Khergits. I get bored once theres a peace treaty (I agree so they i would build my army back). The problem is that for 38 days my mens morale decreases quickly and doing quests are really time consuming. So i ask this;

SHOULD I DECLARE WAR AGAINST THE VAEGIRS???
