Hey folks! Question about War Sails.

I’m still a new player at Mount & Blade. My friend has the PS+ catalogue so I gave Warband a shot and liked it, I’ll be sure to play it on PC! I’m interested in buying War Sails. Companion wins tournament but doesn't get prize

So one of my companions beat me in the final round of a tournament, the prize was I think some chain mail armor. I figured hey, if I'm not gonna win, he will at least get good armor. But he didn't get anything. No prize money, no prize, nothing. Do you guys think if a companion wins a tournament that they should get the prize?
