Disappointed Diplomacy

Just got back into the game agter the war sails expansion. And I am disappointed at the shallow level of fiplomacy still in the game. So many aded features and yet they could not add a truce mechanic...or even a way to influence nobles to change policy. Furthermore the changes they made are banal and redundant.. Explain to me why my "ALLY" Just deckared war on me after i PAID them 500k money to attack another faction. Keep in mind this was with 72 days remaining on the alliance. Running out of money, is this a bug?

So I'm currently running about -15k deficit. I'm the ruler of the southern empire because the queen had an accident and died. I'm constantly sitting at 0 denars but nothing seems to happen. Should I be losing soldiers or something when I cant pay my bills each day? Basically I just run around with a bunch of 2 handed swords and sell them whenever I need to buy something.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
