What is fast mode?

My money is disappearing because I have to much militia in my castles and cities.

So I have been playing bannerlord for a little while now and I have just created my kingdom. I already have a couple of castles and cities that were given to me from the western empire because I was a vassal. But now I have a problem. I have wayyyyy to much defenders in my castles and cities and I do not know how to get ride of them. I am dropping about 3k coins a day and I am nearly bankrupt. Please Help!
