Why do I feel like Bannerlord is missing some of the "magic" Warband had/has?

Basically title. I have around 45hrs on Bannerlord and over 700hrs on Warband and I can't help but feel like Bannerlord is missing some of the charm that Warband had. Am I just crazy?
