STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Arena fights

Once I get to roughly 30 or over in arena wins, I just start to execute anyone that’s gets ahead of me in arena wins (with cheats), unfortunately caladog is now my first head roll this play thru (without cheats). He won’t stop winning and doing this back and forth since we both had roughly 24 (him) and 25 (me) so now I have to permanently stop him. Now we’re at 32 (him) 31 (me)
