STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Help my game is doing something stupid

Help my game is doing something stupid

So basically when I am in a battle occasionally I will hit some button, no idea which one, and suddenly my movement and other actions are completely locked no matter how many buttons I mash and google and Reddit have been zero help so far, the only things I can do are drag my mouse to look around and modify the size of the combat log/feed.

I just won a 20 minute long siege and my army took out over 1100 nords. I really do not want to have to load a save from an hour ago like I have to every other time this happens, please dear god help me.

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
