STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. Mod help

Hey guys, did a Google search but didn't have any luck on finding a fix.

Downloaded mods - works all find - suddenly it just stops working. It crashed every now and again never an issue then after one crash went to load up and just wouldn't work. Tried unistalling the mods, the fresh game install, everthing only I could find but no fix. Any suggestions?
