STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. How do I change one of my stat points (not focus point) to another?

Hello,

I feel like all the reddit posts are outdated, is there an easy way to swap one stat point to another? I looked at mods and they all seem outdated (im playing vanilla). I'm somewhat noob at modding so please let me know!
