STUCK AT BEGINING OF WARSAILS

I escorted the merchants and fought off two ships in a sea battle . I'm on the Scourge of the Seas quest. It tells me to talk to Gunnar via a golden exclamation point. I go to talk to him and he says thst he is waiting on new." What do I do now? It seems as though there are no obvious prompts and the quest still exists. I need help specifically with advancing this quest...I can't believe I am stuck this early in the game. If anyone has any advice, I'm really desperate. 6 point start removed from Bow skill

I remember when War Sails came out you could start a Khuzait character with 6 points in Bow because every starting option included a Bow skill boost, now the option of "Survived a siege" is unavailable if you previously choose the needed options. I also checked the sturgian two handed 6 start, which is still possible, so I assume it wasn't a balancing "fix", just a random change?
