I hate Horse Archers

Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. Mod for longer kicking reach?

They never got around to fix the kicking, so was wondering if theres a mod to do that? Especially with war sails i'd like to kick people into the water. If there's no mod, does anyone have pointers which classes to look in to mod it myself?
