I hate Horse Archers

Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. Siege defenses too hard or skill issue?

I recently was in a siege, and i got my but absolutely kicked despite having all top tier troops as well as only a third less than the attackers. its waaaaayyy too hard now. even when they got on the ladders, i checked, and despite maybe one or two people on the wall so far, they had nearly double kills! this is rediculous
