Why did I decide to sign up with the northern empire as a Merc whilst they were fighting the Khuzaits? I've never fought them before and the one time I don't go with a decent horse rider because I want to fight on foot, this happens. It would be cool to have a system where you could change your party's campaign movement pace.
There could be some kind of fatigue system, where traveling at a faster pace drains party fatigue, and traveling at a slower pace or staying put recharges it. If you run out of fatigue, your party would be fixed at the slowest pace until fatigue regenerates.
Traveling at a faster pace reduces map visibility, traveling at a slower pace increases it.
It would be perfect for all kinds of niche scenarios, where you're in a foot race against a hostile party that you're chasing, or that's chasing you.
