Western empire getting recked 1.7 - 1.7.1 vanilla

So it's my third playthrough and they get stomped every time by the AI quite early on (before a 1000 days).

It's also the only kingdom getting hammered that much so I was wondering if it's the same for you guys, do they need a buff?
