How do you manage your land / sea troops, if you're not playing Nords?

I'm curious about how to manage two separate parties. Obviously, you can just stuff your regular land troops on ships and call it a day. However, I wonder if it would make sense to leave a bunch of sea troops garrisoned in a coastal city and swap your land army with your mariners when you need to go and do some sailing. How do you play? Do you have two separate parties? Do you run around with a mix of mariners and land troops? Do you commit to just one playstyle? Is there a mod that makes it hard to level up t4-t5 units like in Viking Conquest?

As the title says using RBM with DRM, once you have all elite troops in your army you just steamroll all other armies. My 200 elite cataps just steamrolled a 1k army twice and just steamrolled all towns and castles in vlandia in one war with only 50+ losses on my end.

I like the what VC did where t4-t5 units are really strong and really hard to kill but very hard to train, on my 100 hours of campaign I only had 50+ elite units and their performance are worth it as they are very hard to kill. The same with the enemy elites, killing them are very satisfying.

Detailed Mariner Unit Analysis/Tier List for Campaign

TL;DR Tier List. These are my personal notes and I acknowledge it is just my opinion, just posted to hopefully help others S: Imperial Naute A: Battanian Skipari, Vlandian Nauta, Nord Huscarl, B: Sturgian Reaver, Nord Berserkr, Aserai Bahriyyah, C: Corsair Chief, Nord Skjaldbrestir, Nord Chosen of the Sky-God, Sea Raider Chief D: Various Convoy Guards, Nord Ulfhedinn, F: Nord Youngling Testing is done in actual campaign as well as using custom battles and the Retinue mod to look directly at stats/equipment. General Observations: Shields are required, otherwise you get shredded by ranged attacks. Skills and ship upgrades can boost shield health massively, with some like the Nord Decorated Shield crossing 2,000 hp! I've seen Huscarls with 20+ Javelins in their unbroken shield at the end of a battle.
