First time coming across this option

I've never seen this "capture the enemy" option before, so it was pretty cool seeing something new after playing the game on and off for years. submitted by /u/kas-sol [link] [comments]

Hero troops

Do yall put your fellow faction members into battle as a hero troop? I’ve started to fill the infantry with them but it’s kinda sad when they die lmao Is it worth using them in battle? Does their high skill make a big enough difference? submitted by /u/Wazzammm [link] [comments]

Enemy Lords

So I’m at a stalemate with the Khuzaits. I left them unchecked and now it’s down to Aserai vs Khuzaits they got half the map we have the other half. It’s been nothing but back and forth and we’re actually losing. I’m not the faction leader Unqid still is and maybe that’s where my problem is but here’s what I’ve done so far I started recruiting lords/ladys first because that seemed the most logical. Then each time I recruit someone on outside changes sides and leads to another mess so I started capturing the clan leaders and Monchug to stop their aggressiveness and give my faction time to seize their castles/towns but they sue for peace to pay tribute and the majority vote wins and all the prisoners get release but now it’s to the point where peace only last days before either side declares war again. So before I started executing I went back to recruiting and the same thing happens someone on outside switches (so far my relations with the lords that switch are good) so idk why they’...

Is the conspiracy quest supposed to suck this much?

I don’t think I’ve ever been more annoyed with a game just screwing me over this much. I put the stupid banner together later into my run because I was having fun just playing the game and when I finally did it the game just states “have fun fighting the world forever”. Was there any way to stop it? Or did it auto complete some task/quest because I already controlled most of the empire territory? Sorry if I sound a bit whiny, I just wasn’t expecting to be punished for working on a main quest line in a game. I understand why everyone here is fine with executing lords without a second thought. submitted by /u/MundusPlanus [link] [comments]

Huh? I am independent...

Lords keep betraying me every time they get a fief

So in my universe, I’m playing as an Aserai emir, second generation after my first character died of old age. World situation is wild, Aserai domain borders the Khuzaits, and we’re allied. Battanians, Sturgians, and most of the Empire are gone, our alliance cover 50% of the map. The Southern Empire is reduced to one city, but it has around 15 clans packed into it. Only real powers left are the Nords domain in the far north and the Vlandians dominating the “Europe” side of the map. Here’s the strange part: No one attacks the Southern Empire. They don’t attack anyone either. I tried convincing my king to finish them off, but he refuses every time. So I took matters into my own hands and started converting their clans instead. I bribed about 10 clans, usually costing me 1M+ denars per clan, and brought them into the Aserai. Now the real problem begins. Every time we take a Vlandian fief, my king gives it to one of these fiefless ex-Empire clans. And almost every single time, 2 minut...

Do better Arrows even matter?

pretty much title. I am running around searching for Legendary Stacked Bodkin Arrows or even Piercing Arrows right now, but i am slowly questioning if that is even worth it. Has anyone done a damage comparison of different arrow types so far? If the damage just gets added on top, im not sure it is worth the hassle of searching. Also, are there other boni to arrows? Like do some fly "better" than others? submitted by /u/ranzpunzel [link] [comments]

What are the best troops for each faction.

I know the obvious ones banner knights for Vlandia, legionaries and Elite Cataphracts for the Empires, Fian Champion for Battania, the Khanate Guard for Khuzaits, and of course for bandits the all powerful looters.(Those rocks will tear you apart) submitted by /u/MediumFun5034 [link] [comments]

Could you create a kingdom then leave it?

Battania got wiped off the map within three years in my game. Could I theoretically make a new kingdom, call it Battania, same color and laws, recruit some Battanian clans, and then leave? Would they elect a new leading clan and practically continue as Battania? Could you then go and create another kingdom afterward? submitted by /u/Used_Adhesiveness54 [link] [comments]

How do you build YOUR clan

Do you start your main character as a combat master or do you start political or somewhere in-between In the words of Ser Bronn of the Blackwater "That's how all the great houses started, isn't it? With a hard bastard who was good at killing people, kill a few hundred people, they make you a lord, kill a few thousand, they make you king." submitted by /u/Wischmidty5 [link] [comments]

Is War Sails completely broken on every platform or just Xbox?

I've been playing since the dlc dropped and I find it shocking that it crashes all the time still. The crashes during seiges is worse than before but it's still playable. BUT The selling point of the dlc was naval battles. I have attempted about 50 naval engagements on this play through and the game has crashed...literally every single time... That's right, I have never finished a naval battle, it almost always crashes in the first minute or two. But it always crashes before the battle ends. The tutorial worked fine but not a single naval battle since. Is this the case on PC and PS5? It seems criminal to sell a dlc that can't run the content they sold it on! I'd love to hear if this is the case for others. Thanks Lords submitted by /u/Honest-Abe2677 [link] [comments]

Crashing Upon First Movement New Game

Finally decided to pick up War Sails and was excited to start a Nord playthrough. I purged all my old mods and picked up some new ones that were all reported to be working, at least by the comments in the steam workshop. Whether I start a new game in sandbox or campaign, the moment I left click for my character to start moving, the game just freezes. The audio continues but the world freezes and I can’t get the menu to pop up. Is anyone else experiencing this? submitted by /u/averagehunterdad [link] [comments]

Ooooh It's King Vs King like the Crusades, Saladin vs Richard the Lionheart. Unquid vs Derthert. And this time I'm with Unquid.

This is going to be a good battle we have the numbers and will win but I'm going to save this and try to capture dirty D and decapitate him and crush his empire. Long live the Sultinate!!!! submitted by /u/SuperAstronaut952 [link] [comments]

Diplomacy percentages of success is not accurate to real chances

So, enemy went to siege my castle (again) and I failed a 13% chance to persuade my faction to make peace. So I decided to savescum a bit, and even after 10 tries I still failed. So I locked in, and spend 40+ minutes of my precious time to check, if I will ever succeed. Out of 111 attempts with 13% chance, I haven't managed to succeed even a single time, which is way outside of supposed 13% success rate. I also have a 100 relation with the king, so it seems it does not affect the result of the vote at all. submitted by /u/Sculpdozer [link] [comments]

First time winning vastly outnumbered.

The stars aligned and I actually won a siege defense super outnumbered. Like 1700 vs 300. Ai actually targeted enemy siege engines accurately which helped a lot and my console didn’t crash lol. In the end it was just my party with just 11 infantry and a random assortment of 26 archers left holding a flight of stairs and me with like 2 hp and a dream. I know most of you have won crazy battles like this but this one was my first (of many hopefully). The loot was crazy. submitted by /u/Equivalent-Breath646 [link] [comments]

Do you prefer to fight by horse or by foot

Yes Horse or foot and why ? Sometimes I like horse, lead my horsemen by command "follow me" and flank through the archers if possible. Once I lead a ranged troop by foot and was arching with them ! Cool wow ok 🤠 What do u like and why View Poll submitted by /u/SchiriBeats [link] [comments]

How du you all make money too you’re first ship in sandbox starting nord? There are never any quest to do here, the land here is so big and empty and foresty, i don’t know I just feel I’m progressing to slow. Not doing smithing because it’s so teadious. submitted by /u/Ebrauc [link] [comments]

How do culture bonuses applied to villages work?

For example: Vlandian villages get 10% bonus to production in castle-bound villages, Sturgains get 10% bonus grain production. Are these bonuses based on the culture of the ruling kingdom, of the leader of the clan that owns it, or the village itself? I would think it means that the player character being of Vlandian culture means all castle-bound villages I own anywhere on the map will get the bonus, but what raised the question for me is the way the Battanian veteran militia bonuses is worded - "Towns owned by Battanian rulers will have +20% chance of militias to spawn as veteran militias" rather than simply saying "Battanian towns" similar to how the other two are worded. Thanks Bannerlords. submitted by /u/RickMoneyRS [link] [comments]

Did this update make seiges exponentially more difficult or is it just me?

Before warsails i could win 200vs 2000 easily just cheesing defenses but now the past 5 seiges I've been in are impossible to win even when I outnumber the enemy (especially khuzaits) by several hundred. I ambush and almost destroy all the siege weapons but they never retreat, just push the ladders up and my forces do nothing to stop them. I literally just watched 4 darkhans kill 20 of my fian champs without taking so much as a scratch, then they just flood the walls and kill everything. And I was only outnumbered by about 50 guys submitted by /u/Smokebreak_45 [link] [comments]

War horses > noble horses

And this is a straight fact! Why? You can use war horses for high tier cavalry update but not the noble horses War horses stats are close to noble ones yet ppl won't charge you 3 times more when u decide to ride a war horse War horses are more rare while you can find a sht tons of noble horse in cities submitted by /u/feed_da_parrot [link] [comments]

Mod to lower price notables ask for supporting you with influence/file to edit the price they ask for?

Notables in my game are asking me for 220,000 denars to give me 0.5 influence per day. This is an outrageously high price and what they give in return is not equal in value. Is there a mod that reduces this amount to something reasonable like 5-10K denars? Or is there a file somewhere I can edit with Notepad++ to reduce the amount? Honestly ridiculous. submitted by /u/HolyMolyOllyPolly [link] [comments]

My brother is insanely short??

Started a campaign, I’m several hours in, got my brother back and he’s TINY! Like embarrassingly small? So are my other two siblings even after coming of age. Is this going to screw up my whole clan now? Is everyone going to be super short? What happens when my character dies? Will I play as one of my short family members? Will all my generals and lords be short? I don’t want to start over since I’m so many hours in but it’s really jarring seeing a 3 foot tall Viking submitted by /u/hotdog-water-- [link] [comments]

Troops being put into incorrect formations (or not showing up at all)

I've been experiencing a problem with formations in my unmodded War Sails playthrough. As an example, if I have 2 formations for infantry and 1 for ranged, a significant number of my infantry will be put into the ranged formation. Stranger still, they aren't actually represented. I can, for example, move all the ranged troops out of a ranged formation, but still see numerous, uncounted infantry in it. The only way to get them back is to finagle with different formations until they eventually return to my infantry groups. Any idea why this is happening? submitted by /u/BookerLegit [link] [comments]

Detailed Mariner Unit Analysis/Tier List for Campaign

TL;DR Tier List. These are my personal notes and I acknowledge it is just my opinion, just posted to hopefully help others S: Imperial Naute A: Battanian Skipari, Vlandian Nauta, Nord Huscarl, B: Sturgian Reaver, Nord Berserkr, Aserai Bahriyyah, C: Corsair Chief, Nord Skjaldbrestir, Nord Chosen of the Sky-God, Sea Raider Chief D: Various Convoy Guards, Nord Ulfhedinn, F: Nord Youngling Testing is done in actual campaign as well as using custom battles and the Retinue mod to look directly at stats/equipment. General Observations: Shields are required, otherwise you get shredded by ranged attacks. Skills and ship upgrades can boost shield health massively, with some like the Nord Decorated Shield crossing 2,000 hp! I've seen Huscarls with 20+ Javelins in their unbroken shield at the end of a battle. You can assume the high tier shields will not break in battle, meaning a single high damage hit creeping through is the best means of ranged attack rather than quantity. For ra...

Mod that does custom banners?

I'm looking for a mod that will allow me to import images or use custom images for my Clan/Kingdom, as well as allow me to create a separate banner for my Kingdom that isn't the same as my Clan's. Does anyone have anything, or does that not exist yet? submitted by /u/Lightning-12368 [link] [comments]

Why did they get rid of helmets for the empire?

Lower tier empire troops used to have Byzantine style helmets that looked great. Now they all just get padded coifs? Why? It looks awful. Their troops used to look cool, now they look like peasants roleplaying as assassins creed. Is it because the Nords don’t have much head protection so for “balance” instead of giving all low tier troops helmets they just got rid of them? Historically the FIRST piece of armor someone would get is a helmet… since the Bronze Age, even if all you have is a shirt, shield, and spear, the first piece of armor you’d get is a helmet. Is there any way to add helmets back or something? They look ridiculous submitted by /u/hotdog-water-- [link] [comments]

Supporters are pointless

This random villager wants me to pay him 60k denars so he can give me 0.05 influence daily. Ever since they got rid of influence decay it's been practically infinite anyway though. Am I missing something? submitted by /u/Blitzspx [link] [comments]

Very Specific help needed, I need to win a battle

I need a command or something to win a battle, I cant fight the Battle due to the Mod ButterLib Crashing my game. I know as a fact I could win the battle if I fought it, the bars are fairly close but auto resolve never works. I've tried to give myself more troops using the console or leveling up my Tactics to max but it doesn't work. Also worth noting is I cant use any commands that need a party or my characters name because it contains É« in it. I have tried to kill the other lord with commands but it doesn't do anything. I can't just leave the fight because it is me helping a village which I cant leave for, I can't try to get away either, my two options are fight or auto resolve. This run has about 30 hours at least and it really sucks I cant continue fairly from here but I refuse to lose this fight for unfair reasons. submitted by /u/POSHpierat [link] [comments]

What's your favorite army composition?

On my current playthrough I'm planning on doing Nord/Khuzait army, consisting of Huscarls, Sky God Choosen and Khan Guards, in a 5:3:2 ratio. No regular Cavalry. Previously I was doing an Empire run, with 2:2:1:1 ratio of Infantry to Archers to Cavalry to Horse Archers. Most of my units were Imperial but I would often recruit troops of other cultures when campaigning in their territories (in Aserai had to replace some of my fallen Cataphracts with Farises and Archers with Master Archers, in Battania replaced dead archers with Fians, Menavliatons with Falxmen and Legionaries with Wildlings), so I ended up with a very multicultural army submitted by /u/doulegun [link] [comments]

Did I just win this battle through a massive morale shock?

You can see in the post battle screen that it's about 1300ish vs my 200ish and the battle only lasted 6 minutes. But they had 2100 troops to my 260, so I think I won the battle with 800 of their troops not even entering the battlefield. I basically spent the entire 6 minute battle delaying the battering ram from getting to our gate. Meanwhile my archers shot them to death. I've never had a siege defense end this quickly, especially when the enemy army has over 2000 troops. submitted by /u/Glorf_Warlock [link] [comments]

How the hell do I use Horse Archers?

In the previous versions of the game I remember that setting horse archers to "charge" would make them circle the enemy while showering them with arrows, and "engage" will make them retreat from enemy's melee range while shooting as they retreat. In this version it doesn't seem to be working that way? I've sent them to charge and about half of them went melee and the other half was randomly walking around, shooting at the shieldwall's shields. What commands should I be using for Horse Archers? What formations (other than loose) submitted by /u/doulegun [link] [comments]

Starting out on your own?

So, I have not played in what, years? So I was wondering with War Sails and other changes now about the following things: If I want to RP a un-alligned raider castlelord with just a single castle, how many/much of the following do I need to not get instantly crushed? Money Passive income Troops For earlier in-game. Say I want to do single longship raiding shenanigans, do I just go Nord troops like Skjalbestirs and Huskies or is it viable to majority go Sky-Gods with some Infantry (25%)? I really like the idea of Sky-Gods. Any other unit suggestions besides Fians are also welcome. submitted by /u/Bokuja [link] [comments]

Calradia in this playthrough so far

its been a hot min since this playthrough started, Vlandia and the Southern empire (tho the Southern empire has been holding on there for ages now) both are just a city and a castle now with two empires on each side of the map haha submitted by /u/Hella-Lis [link] [comments]

The Clash Of Kings

Two warrior kings the Faris Ali and the General Garios clashed in the biggest naval battle in the history of Calradia. Against the overwhelming might of the Western Empire fleet, Ali’s forces stood their ground amidst the crashing waves delivered a crushing blow, The sea became a graveyard for the Imperial armada resulting in a decisive victory for Ali's forces. After the battle, Ali executed Garios as punishment for his betrayal and withdrawal at the Battle of Pendraic which left the Aserai to die without support. Note: Why TaleWorlds didn't add reinforcements in naval battles??!! bc if you have 500 soldiers you can beat an army of 10 thousand bc the max is around 500 for each. submitted by /u/A_BH24 [link] [comments]
