A poem from our Hero

I have a nice wife, a nice fief too, a castle on a hill with a magnificent view. I have fertile lands, and villages that thrive, hundreds of troops who somehow stay alive. My coffers are heavy, my warband is fed, my enemies see my banner and occasionally drop dead. I have horses and armor, silver and grain, a hall full of nobles complaining again. By every measure, I’ve won at this game. I’ve conquered, grown wealthy, and built up my name. Yet I stand on my battlements when the campaigning is done, watching the mountains fade with the sun. My wife is beside me. My kingdom is strong. My vaults overflow. But something feels wrong. I’ve everything a lord could possibly acquire… Maybe what’s missing another fief to desire. submitted by /u/t-o-m-u-s-a [link] [comments]

What makes games like Battle Brothers great and how it could be added to MB (bannerlord?)

Im currently in love with Battle Brothers much the same way that I once was with MB. The only reason why I think I like MB better as a whole is scale.

But what games like battle brothers and x-com trade in exhange of scale is having developed characters that build their story in your party as they fight and survive encounters.

MB kind of tried this in a half ass way with the heros but the key thing is that they didnt die and didnt have any special ability or trait that they could earn aside from the normal stuff.

Itd be nice if throughout the world there were special units that both the player and AI could recruit. Make them stronger and special in some way. Maybe have a hierarchy system for your army so that these guys could command troops of their own and be a sort of general under you.

And for the love of butter dont make them immortal. It takes all the weight of it if your cool special unit can NEVER die, you dont really get attached.

Disclaimer: I dont follow dev blogs closely so I dont know if anything like this has been announced...
