| Ngl Warband's world feels more alive to me. Especially when it comes to dialogues Bannerlord feels so empty but warband had personality. Also stuff Like unique companions, different lord personalities, ability to ask other lords where they are (this might seem like a small issue in bannerlord but when it comes to that neretzes quest it's really a big deal lol) even quests are better in warband, like training villagers so they can fight with bandits, or saving a girl from bandits. I helped a village once, and the villages lord told me stuff like 'that was my village if they need anything they should come to their lord not you' (I don't remember the exact words but it was something along this line) also one of my biggest issue with Bannerlord is that companions are so bad. While in bannerlord each of them had their own personalites they had friends, haters, in the group. Sometimes they would fight and bring that to you. When traveling they would talk about the places in your route. Like when you're close to a castle and you have an architect companion in the group he would talk about that castle. Or you could send them to spy on other cities. You could make them lords when you got your own kingdom and it was different depending on the companion, like if you turn a commoner to a lord then other lords would get mad at you. But if the companion was a noble, other lords had more understanding. Depending on your relation with the companion they could even betray you. While in Bannerlord... They exist. Different companions every playthrough (like they're made by AI) only one dialogue just when you recruit them and thats it. No personalities or interactions. One more thing maybe this is not that important but in Warband if you had really good armors, like knight armors, You wouldn't get any damage from low level enemies or weapons this made you feel how strong you are at the mid-end game. Before anyone gets the wrong idea, I have no hate towards bannerlord. I played both games as vanilla for a lot and had fun. I know bannerlord has better gameplay, bigger map, better sieges, more tactics in the battlefield but problem is, it gets repetitive so quickly. It's not just about bannerlord too, every m&b games gets repetitive especially after mid game. As I said I know bannerlord does some things better, but it gets repetitive so bigger map just turns into a bigger grind, tactical battles feels like a chore, sieges feels useless because, it's all about sieges and the world itself doesn't feel alive. Warband has this issues too but it does make you feel the weight of the crown. Because the world feels alive. In Bannerlord after you get yourself a castle you're desperately looking to a voting screen and thats all. While in Warband, king makes a feast invites you and other lords, so he can keep everyones moral up. Then you're joining the local tournament, win it go to castle and flirt with the ladies Xd. Then you talk with your lord friends, ask them about who should get the new castle/city you got, then convince them to support your claim on the new land. I can talk so much about Warband's features that Bannerlord doesn't have. But I think these enough to show that Warband's world feels more alive. Besides, Warband came in 2010 and did a pretty good job so I'm just having fun playing Warband but in bannerlord... I can't help but focusing to missing stuff. It just makes me feel like 'This could have been more'. [link] [comments] |
I love PoP and think it's the best thing since Sliced Person, but the early game is bloody brutal, especially if you're used to kicking ass and taking names in M&B vanilla. So I wanted to write an early game guide to share my experience and hopefully help someone else get into the mod without as much agony as I (and many others) experienced. Character Creation - Questions When you start character creation, the game hits you with a bunch of background story questions. My advice is to answer these however you like, building the backstory for your character that interests you and helps get you into the story. However , these questions have serious impacts on the game, most critically whether you can create Knights of the Griffon chapters with just money, and something called the Rumor Interval which sounds irrelevant but is the most important thing ever . For a deep read on the subject see the wiki https://pop3.fandom.com/wiki/Character_Creation Or for a quick "Just...
