confused on how to progress at the mid-late game

i've got SO much money, i'm a lord with a few towns that help break well over even with all my enterprises, i can relatively handle myself on a battlefield with my giant ass swadian knight regiment. there's two rotating wars with the vaegirs and kanate i'm taking GREAT monetary advantage of. how do i take all of this LITERAL power and turn it into governance power? i'm quite good friends with the marshal of swadia, but what can i work towards to start making some shit work for ME?

Back when Bannerlord was announced, I vaguely remember that, in the announcement thread, people were discussing the choice of the title "Bannerlord." Does anyone else remember that?
