Monchug was feeling generous today.

I'm playing with some mods that heavily restrict recruitment, so my army is almost entirely bandits and mercenaries. On land, Monchug's army would destroy mine, but this isn't a land battle and he gifted me several amazing prizes. Large sum of tournament winnings?

On a few occasions I have won between 50-60k from tournaments I have lost, but a companion ended up winning. Can someone explain this to me? Is this a bug or am I missing something I don't understand? I didn't place any bets in these tournaments either.
