Mods with only one Kingdom

I know the whole point of MnB is the chaos and politics of different kingdoms, BUT i was wondering if there are any mods with only one major kingdom or just 2 for a rebellion type playthrough. Is it too late to start smithing?

I didn't realize how much money you can make from smiting so I'm still at level 1. I'm pretty late in the game started my own kingdom and it's a constant struggle to keep from going broke. Does it take a long time to level up smiting? Should I try it or not waste my time and just conquer more enemies to make money
